Product: 100A Kentree (HRC) Battery Fuses
KSh 5,000
Product Description
The Kentree 100A HRC fuse is a blade-style (NH00/NH000) fuse designed for high-voltage DC and AC applications. It features a ceramic body filled with high-purity silica sand, which acts as a quenching agent to instantly extinguish electrical arcs. These fuses are “fast-acting” in short-circuit conditions but provide enough thermal delay to handle the normal inrush currents of large inverters. They are typically installed in a dedicated battery disconnect holder (like a KETO or NH-style base) between the battery bank and the inverter.
Key Benefits
-
High Rupturing Capacity: Capable of safely interrupting up to 120,000 Amps of fault current, ensuring that even a dead-short across a massive battery bank is contained within the fuse body.
-
Cool Running Design: The silver-plated blades and high-quality ceramic housing ensure low power loss and minimal heat buildup, which extends the life of the fuse holder and surrounding cables.
-
Enhanced Fire Safety: The silica sand filling effectively absorbs the heat and pressure of an electrical arc, preventing the fuse from exploding or emitting sparks during a failure.
-
Predictable Performance: HRC fuses offer precise time-current characteristics, meaning they won’t “nuisance trip” during normal operation but will react instantly to a genuine short circuit.
-
Cost-Effective “Insurance”: While a circuit breaker can be reset, an HRC fuse provides a physical and irreversible break in the circuit that is often more reliable for protecting very expensive Lithium battery banks.
