Housed in a robust NH1-size ceramic body, it is specifically designed to quench the high-energy arcs that occur in high-voltage DC systems. Unlike standard fuses, this unit is filled with high-purity silica sand that instantly absorbs thermal energy during a fault. It is a “fail-safe” component, often used in a dedicated fuse-base with a protective cover to provide the final line of defense for expensive lithium battery banks and high-power hybrid inverters.
